An nice error message by Quicktime: Uhhh! What a BAD filename!1!!1 The filename consisted of about 54 characters. After shortening it, Quicktime didn't complain anymore. Maybe MacOS doesn't support long filenames? I've no idea.

MacOS supports 255 characters since '98 (and 31 since '85).
At the least, Quicktime's error dialogs aren't designed to support file names that long :)
