Finally, I've created a twitter account. I''m going to write there news about irrEdit, CopperCube, Websitepainter, irrFuscator and irrKlang from time to time, so if you prefer twitter to the Ambiera newsletter, you can follow me there:
the 140 character limit is too low for me, if I have something to say I need more space and going to use this blog. But for update notifications and similar, that twitter stuff should be ok, I guess. Lots of companies are doing it this way.
Maybe, but twitter lives of a two-direction communication. Having just a "Twitter-Feed" is not interesting, there are better solutions for feeds (RSS, Newsletter). And I am aware, that many companies do it like that. In fact, many private persons do it, too, they have a twitter account linked to their blog, and everytime they write something, the blog post link is tweeted.
And they are doing it wrong, IMHO. That is not the point of Twitter.
You might want to check out Identi.ca, the FOSS competitor of twitter. You wouldn't even have to exclude all twitter users as there is a twitter bridge which is able to post all your messages on your twitter account.
